Chapel:We were so encouraged to hear the eighth grade students share their speeches about a favorite verse from Proverbs. They were insightful and very well done!

** We would like time to prepare an excellent presentation for our chapel.. We will be presenting chapel skits on May 30.**

Dear Families,
I thank you for the warm welcome from your children, the staff and especially Mrs. Hawkins. Transitions can be challenging at best, so I ask you to pray for this time - for your children, for me and for Mrs. Hawkins and her family. It’s been a blessing to have her help and guidance as I “learn the ropes” of fifth grade at WHCS.

I’ve been praying that the Lord would direct my steps and I thank Him for His direction to West Hills Christian School. It’s pretty amazing the way He brought me here at just the right time for the class and for me!!

Ps. 37:23 “The steps of a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way”

With joy, Dixie McCaslin

No chapel this past week due to Patriotic Program rehearsal…

Families,
I can’t thank you enough for sharing your sweet and bright kids with me each day.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them.  WHCS is such a special place and I truly feel blessed that my kids and I had the chance to be here for most of the year.  Life certainly is full of surprises, but nothing is a surprise to God.  He goes before each of us as we navigate life, even on twisty roads.  While I am excited to start a new chapter with my husband and children, I am so sad to leave West Hills behind.
I am excited for the class for the blessing of Mrs. McCaslin.  She will provide a smooth transition for the class and help the students finish the year strong!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11

Chapel this past week…
Mr. Chang shared with students five lessons he has learned about our relationship with God, through his relationship with his beloved dog, Totoro.
1.       He knows that I love him and will always protect him.
2.       He wants to be with me at all times and he never gets tired of being with me.
3.       He recognizes my voice.
4.       He obeys my commands (most of the time).
5.       He is reassured when I tell him “I’ll be back!”  Then he patiently waits for me to come back.
The students were able to relate these lessons from animals they know and think about their relationship with God through the context of love, obedience, and trust.

Ask your student to tell you about it!
