January 29 – February 2, 2018

Memory Verse  (Test 2/16)
Ephesians 6:10-18 New International Version (NIV)
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Chapel this past week…
Students were reminded that God is ALWAYS available when they need to talk to someone.  He is never too busy, somewhere else, or not really listening when we pray.   He always hears us and listens carefully.

1 John 5:14-15
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.  And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we have asked of him.”

Ask your student to tell you about it!

Chapel this past week…

We enjoyed a speaker from Westside Jesus Church.  He encouraged the kids to use their talents and giftings, even as children, to further the Kingdom of God and help others.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.  If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.  To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever.  Amen.”  1 Peter 4:10-11

Ask your student to tell you about it!

Chapel this past week...
We had the honor of hearing 8th grade Proverbs speeches.  The book of Proverbs is such a treasure trove of wisdom for children and adults.  There were so many wonderful verses and testimonies shared.  I wonder what your child remembers from the student speeches?

“Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues.”         Proverbs 10:19

Ask your student to tell you about it!
